Redevelopment of Sorrento Surf Lifesaving Club
Founded in 1958, the Sorrento Surf Lifesaving Club has a membership of 1,940 financial members including a junior base of 750 nippers. In order to meet the needs of the current and forecasted membership base, support the development of junior and youth members, provide the necessary training and community services, a redevelopment concept plan has been proposed by the committee to increase the internal building floor area of the clubhouse from 1,335 square metres to 2,124 sqm with 885 sqm of external courtyard, deck, and wash down areas.
Ian Goodenough intends to ask the House to:
Make provision in future Budgets for a federal funding contribution to the City of Joondalup to facilitate the redevelopment of Sorrento Surf Lifesaving Club.
